Though not a new idea, more and more we are hearing people talk about it Why?.

Whether you’ve already had sex while high or are just curious about it, we are all trying to figure out, what can marijuana do for your sex life?

This week on All The F.UQs we are diving into weeds about weed and what’s going on during sex while high.

Assumed Pros and Cons About Weed and Sex?

Sexual arousal is complicated and there are a lot of myths, both positive and negative, around how weed impacts our sex lives.

It is very common to hear about heightened sensitivity while high and having sex. Every touch, kiss, spank, and caress carries just that much more sensitivity to the skin.

Merry Jane released a post on the most commonly heard pros when it comes to marijuana and sex including:

  • increased desire for sex and sensitivity during sex

  • higher sex frequency

  • stronger orgasms

  • longer pleasure

But before you go off to find out if its true, there have also been some assumed cons associated with sex while high.

Merry Jane also shared the most talked about cons when it comes to sex and weed, including:

What’s The Science Say

The thing is, there really isn’t too much confirmed about how cannabis directly correlated to our sexual experience. It’s kind of hard to get permission to test folk’s reaction to a schedule I drug. However, there is still a good bit that we do know!

Cannabis and effect on your body.

In our bodies, we naturally have an endocannabinoid system. We make endocannabinoids and have receptors for this compound in the areas of our brain that are tied to sexual function and pleasure.

While we have a natural creation of this compound, THC in marijuana gives us a high because of the way it interacts with our bodies internally.

Change in feel to touch.

When you smoke or ingest weed, the cannabis opens up blood vessels and increases your blood flow. This helps create the sensitivity to touch that Merry Jane is talking about.

Weed also has a direct effect to our cannabinoid receptors of the skin and nerve pathways involved in pain. This sometimes helps people feel less pain while increasing their ability to feel pleasure.

Nothing too definitive.

While science is able to tell us how our bodies directly react to cannabis, there is still a lot left up to us to assume or decide for ourselves.

For instance there is no direct ties to weed helping or worsening some of the myths we mentioned like sperm count, premature ejaculation, or longer sexual stamina.

How to Proceed

No matter if you choose to smoke and have sex or not, there a sexual requirements that still apply.

Marijuana is not fully legal nationally and should still be understood to be psychoactive drug that effects everyone differently.

Weed can both lowed and increase anxiety and paranoia in a person, as well as disorient. Consent would be required prior to smoking and continued communication would be required.

the F.U.Q.S

  • Consent is necessary before sex without drugs, and especially before consuming drugs

  • The sexual requirements come before anything.

  • Weed and sex can be fun, when understood beforehand and used safely and correctly.
